If you or someone you know and love suffers silently with PTSD, find a way to help.

PTSD has been known as shell shock, soldier’s heart, and battle fatigue to name a few. This is commonly known as a mental health diagnosis through the DSM (Diagnostic Statistics Manual) and other diagnostic tools, and according to the National Center for PTSD, “The risk of exposure to trauma has been a part of the human condition since we evolved as a species.”

The American Psychiatric Association added PTSD to the third edition of the DSM in 1980. Although it is debatable and perhaps controversial when it was first introduced, the fact remains, trauma has been around and consistent for ages and ages. This author does not agree with the expression of evolved as a species, since this interpretation interacts with a Darwinism perspective of evolution, whereas the approach toward traumatic exposure found from this website, and in the authors personal experiences can be found and resolved in the power and presence of God, specifically in relationship to Jesus.
