Kevan Fortier has been a born-again believer in Jesus Christ since 1998, and has served both as an associate pastor, and lead pastor. He also has worked in law enforcement for just under 12-years in one capacity or another. It is his deep desire to help people with posttraumatic stress disorder find healing in the hope of Christ.
Chaplain Fortier earned his D.Min with Chaplaincy and PTSD as his focus. He has his Master of Art in Pastoral Counseling, with concentration in trauma and crisis counseling and has his MDIV with Chaplaincy cognate, along with his B.S. in Religion all from Liberty University. He also has his A.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Maine at Fort Kent. Kevan has served for 10-as a Maximum-Security Prison Chaplain, and as a hospital Chaplain, and Chaplain in a Psychiatric Hospital, as well as a Battalion Chaplain for the ARNG. As a person with struggles of PTSD and MDD, he has a passion for serving and helping people.
Although these degrees and credentials may be helpful, the true care comes from hands on compassion. Kevan has been pursuing the Lord in his daily life since 1998. His wife Amanda was tremendously instrumental in leading him into a saving eternal relationship with Jesus Christ on their first date, and now they have been married for over 20-years and have two amazing, beautiful, and God-fearing children.
” Every day is a new beginning, every moment offers the opportunity for hope, every encounter is a blessing to be found, and every moment lived is time to be thankful. As I remember these things, I find true hope, and can build into others and learn to find beauty in ashes, through relationship with my Lord, Jesus Christ.” KJF
Although these degrees are helpful, people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care (Roosevelt).
If you are battling through tough times, through PTSD, or other difficulties, find a Gospel preaching church, get plugged in, look for others in the area to help carry hope, until you can carry it yourself. The above links are some additional resources to help with a church, and Scripture verses to encourage you.
