The continued healing journey into the sacred.
‘The continued healing journey into the sacred’
You are transformed from your experiences of both good and not so good stuff. You are not defined within those experiences. I recognize personally how this is a painful and difficult process, unless you are healed from this wounding of the soul, mind, body, spirit.
Jesus says, “In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). We know suffering and hardship happens, sometimes we wonder why did it happen to me, or to so-and-so? What I can offer you is this, His ways are always above ours, and He has a purpose in the pain, He has strength to lend in the struggle and suffering, He can heal what traditional methodologies can only practice.
The road into the healing journey may not heal you. I need to say this again, you may not be healed as you continue the road into soul wound, but I can assure you that you will be changed within as you seek the One who has already walked ahead of you and paved the way. Can you be the same? Perhaps you can, but what if the purpose into the healing journey is not to heal you? I am not backtracking here, I have been healed of other physical injuries, and some I have not been healed from. I know He is the same yesterday, today, and forever so He can heal me of the PTSD, but what if that is not His purpose at all?
I remember listening to a radio pod cast once a while back featuring Joni Eareckson Tada. If you are not familiar with her, look her up. In 1967 she was seventeen-years old when her life changed forever. She took a dive which left her a quadriplegic. She prayed for healing for a long time, but came across a passage of Scripture in Mark which says this, “Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him. When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.” But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.” And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons” (Mark 1:35-39 [NKJV]).
From this passage she recognized the purpose of why Jesus came forth was to preach the good news of how to get saved (essentially). In the same passage, we see Jesus casting out demons, so He heals, and casts out demons still, but the reason He came was not to heal everyone physically, but to preach, and to ultimately die on the cross for the sin of the world.
Does He want to heal you? Maybe. Perhaps you have suffered a long time with everything that comes along with your PTSD, and you have tried just about everything to bring comfort, or healing. I encourage you, as you continue the journey, don’t walk alone. I want to also submit to you who will receive it, I know He is still the Healer, I also know it is not in my timing but in His alone. We live in such a mentality of having things our way right when we want them, our culture is so fast paced, and we are anxious if we have to wait for more than 45 seconds at a stop light without our favorite coffee.
His timing is perfect, His ways are higher than ours. He may still bring you healing, or He may choose to use you along the journey. Jesus addressing Ananias, “But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake” (Acts 9:15-16 [NKJV]).
He may bring healing, or He may walk alongside of you through the journey. The road may be a long journey into the sacred, keep walking.
Let’s continue the journey together…
